Some exciting things have been
happing around here. You may have seen on my Facebook already, but my amazing
sister has launched her gluten-free cookie company! I can’t explain how proud I
am of her. She is an amazing chef and baker and when she was diagnosed with
Celiac two years ago, her kitchen changed quite a bit. The rest of her family
was very sympathetic but was not interested in making the whole household
gluten-free, for a good reason. Most gluten-free food pretty much sucks. So
that’s when she took the challenge of creating her own cookie recipe that the
whole family could enjoy. And let me tell you, these cookies rock. After a year
of mixing and baking, she finally found the perfect mix.

On Thursday, September 6th,
2011 we were vendors at the Nashville Zoo Sunset Safari. The night
of exploring involved food and drinks from all of Nashville’s top restaurants,
bars and bakeries, live music and dance from many cultures and chances to
interact with some of the zoo’s friendliest creatures. All proceeds benefit
Nashville Zoo’s education and conservation programs.
We were across from the flamingos, my favorite animals of all time. |
It was an incredible night to be
a part of and we couldn’t have asked for a better chance to launch our name
into the world. We featured our Cranberry-Raisin Oatmeal and chocolate chip
cookies. We received incredible feedback and support from the gluten-free
community as well as those who aren’t affected by celiac or a wheat allergy but
just happen to enjoy great cookies!
